![]() Award winning country pub and restaurant The Clytha Arms is set in its own grounds alongside the old Abergavenny to Raglan road (B4598), 3 miles from Raglan with its famous 15th Century Castle, and 6 miles from the Market town of Abergavenny. We are also only 40 minutes drive from the Capital City of Cardiff, with its many historical attractions and superb shopping facilities. Locally we have golf and fishing available on request, and plenty of countryside walks. Andrew and Beverley Canning have now been established since 1992 in the converted Dower house surrounded by green lawns and interesting gardens not far from the river Usk. The place successfully functions as an informal Pub with six real ales, snacks and wide variety of Tapas in the public bar, but most interest now centres on the food in the restaurant. However, the pub side is just as important and Andrew and Bev are winners of the Gwent Pub of the Year 2007 for the fifth time, awarded by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA); in the Which Good Food Guide and the AA Good Pub Guide 2006/2007 as well as the Good Pub Food Guide; Hardens Best Restaurants; Room at the Inn and Which Hotel Guide Glorious Gastropub 2004. They also host an annual Welsh Beer, Cheese & Music festival and a renowned Cider festival. We have four rooms, including a large four poster room, all ensuite (bath and shower taps) with TV, DVD and specialist tea/coffee facilities. We can also offer a private room for small conferences with video facilities and refreshments as required.
